The "student-city" proposed for Cal Poly is moving forward. If approved, it will provide housing for 2700 students and be the biggest dorm city in the State University system. The first phase is targeted for 2008 with full build by 2010. Cal Poly is expected to add over 2000 student spots by 2020. Until then, the local rental market in SLO and other cities where students rent in are expected to be impacted.
