I took my wife an a quick getaway to Monterey before she goes back to work next week (she's a teacher at the SLO Juvenile Services Center). We stayed at the SpinDrift Inn on Cannery row and I'd highly recommend it. We had room 403 (top floor) which is ocean front. The room has a window seat where you can sit and watch the sea otters, a fireplace, and hardwood floors. We ate at the nearby Fish Hopper which was excellent as well. It was real quiet too (meaning the walls weren't thin so we didn't hear people in the other rooms). A quick but refreshing trip!
