Top 10 must-do's before showing your home to buyers or agents!

1. Turn on all or almost all of the lights
2. Turn on soft music
3. Open all of your curtains (unless your view is unsightly)
4. Ventilate your home!
5. Arrange to have your pets away or out of areas buyers will want to see.
6. An hour before the showing, bake cookies or boil some cinnamon sticks in water until it makes the house smell warm and inviting, be careful not to burn!
7. Make a final pass and make sure that everything is spit-shined and looking its best!
8. Take out the trash, from all trash cans.
9. Vacuum lines into your carpet
10. Close the toilet lids (its a simple thing, but it makes a big difference)!!

And last but least... Leave the house for at least an hour, so that people have time to look freely and talk about your house. The longer people linger in your home, the more they usually like it, which leads to offers and ultimately a sale. So if selling is your goal, make sure you put your best performance on for EVERY showing.
