Surf's Up in Morro Bay

On a perfect day- you will see them spotted all along the coast.
Just north of the rock is where I often find what I think of as the experienced surfers. Whether or not the waves are actually higher and more intense near the rock- I don't know, however, they certainly look more dramatic as they crash over it. Another favorite area is just off the Morro Strand State park - possibly became of it's easy access. And not to be forgotten- Cayucos pier, just 6 miles north of the rock, is another great location for surfers and surfing viewers alike.
